At the beginning of 2008 the Zeiss company launched their first rangefinder binoculars: Victory 8x45 T* RF and 10x45 T* RF. In August 2009 that series was enlarged by two night models: Carl Zeiss Victory 8x56 T* RF and Carl Zeiss Victory 10x56 T* RF.

The Ultra View series, produced by Kenko, a Japanese company, consists of six roof-prism models with the following parameters: 8x32, 10x32, 8x42, 10x42, 10x50 and 12x50. It is not a homogeneous line-up, though, because the smallest devices are of the “open hinge” design, so fashionable lately, and the rest are not.

The SE series of the Japanese Nikon company consists of three porro prismatic pairs of binoculars with the following parameters: 8x32, 10x42 and 12x50. They are supposed to be classic and efficient construction of the highest quality, offering top-of-the-range optics for price which can be still called affordable.

The Victory T* is the top-end range of Carl Zeiss binoculars. It consists of two compact models (8x20 and 10x25) but also including bigger instruments with the following parameters: 8x32, 10x32, 8x42, 10x42, 8x56 and 10x56.

Minox HG 8x56 BR MIG binoculars feature roof prisms set in the Schmidt-Pechan system which are phase correction coated and additionally covered by a special silver-based reflection Mino-Bright coating. The optics is made of glass produced by the SCHOTT AG company.

The Kaibab HD series of Vortex binoculars consists of only one pair of binoculars with the parameters of 15x56. It features low-dispersion glass objectives and BaK-4 glass roof prisms, set in the Schmidt-Pechan system and phase-correction coated.

Swarovski company has just unveiled two new roof prism binoculars with parameters 8x30 and 10x30. Their compact design and light weight should provide an exceptional portability and ease of use.

The DH MS series from the Japanese company Kenko includes four models with the following parameters: 8×32, 10×32, 8×42 and 10×42. All these instruments feature Schmidt-Pechan roof prisms made of BaK-4 glass.

The Golden Ring HD series is the highest quality series of binoculars, produced by the American company Leupold. It consists of roof-prism models with the following parameters: 8x32, 8x42 and 10x42. The binoculars’ objectives feature fluorite glass, their Schmidt-Pechan prisms are made of BaK-4 glass.

All companies which have sets of binoculars in their line-up, are invited to take part in our great 8x42 binoculars’ test. This time, during a series of hard endurance trials we would like to check not only optical properties of the equipment but also its durability.

The number of binoculars, produced by the Kahles company from Austria, and being currently on offer, is quite modest; it consist of just three roof-prismatic models with the following parameters: 8×32, 8×42 and 10×42. All of them are equipped with AMV antireflection coatings which task is to ensure a high level of transmission.

The Rainier series consists of the best and the most expensive sets of binoculars offered by the Alpen Optics company. It includes models with the following parameters: 8x32, 10x32, 8x42 and 10x42.

The Carl Zeiss Jena Deltrintem 8×30 set of binoculars and its version with individual focusing called Deltrentis were produced practically ceaselessly in Jena from 1920 to 1990. In 60s, 70s and 80s of the 20th century the Jenoptem 8x30 model was manufactured along with the Dletrintem model.

The HG series includes roof prism models with the following parameters: 8x20, 10x25, 8x32, 10x32, 8x42 and 10x42. Because of additional elements in eyepieces which flatten the field, the image is supposed to stay sharp to the very edge. Original multilayer coatings are to provide excellent transmission...

The Fomei Hunter II 8x32 binoculars were launched on the Polish market in April 2010. The new model, featuring II Roman numeral is characterized by compact dimensions, straight inner tubes with objective lenses 32 mm in diameter and the 8x magnification rate of the optical system.
