Cons: Lime green ring under the eyepieces.

Pros: Exceptional value for money, lightweight, great lens covers, nice padded bag, superb strap, Sharp, Bright, punchy colours, good flat field.

Summary: Spent 3 months buying the \'right binoculars\' online for less than £600. The Endeavor ED II 8x42 are better on edge sharpness than the following binoculars tested MONARCH 5 , 7 & 7s , Hawke Frontier ED X and Vortex Viper Hd’s . On the edges the Endeavor ED II 8x42are sharper and have no colour fringing, beautiful bright bins.

Cons: The only reservation, although purely cosmetic, is that the black hinges could get scratched over time....spoiling their sleek lines.

Pros: The image in all lighting conditions is superb. On a cold wet Autumn day, today (6th November 2019) I was wildlife viewing. The trees, birds, leaves, mossy areas and streams looked spectacular.... bright 3D. Fantastic edge to edge vision which really holds your attention. The ED II\'s are well balanced and comfortable and so accurate in their speedy focusing. I spoke to another wildlife spotter with Leica\'s who was amazed at the comparable image to his binos.

Summary: Vanguard have a real winner. They are worth far more than their asking price. I\'m looking forward to trying the ED IV and am sure the original ED was equally as good
