Cons: Even though these are a now discontinued model, having been taken over by the more expensive NL range, i cannot fault them in anyway. A 12x magnification binocular shouldn\'t really outperform a 7x magnification binocular, but i also own a nice pair of 7x42 Leica Ultravids, and in my honest opinion, the clarity and performance of my Swarovski 12x50s is superior. My only complaint, and its a very minor one, and that the cloth bag, that the binoculars came with. has no place in a binocular of this quality, especially when Swarovski have some lovely carrying cases available

Pros: A truly remarkable clarity, from what is considered quite a high powered binocular. You don\'t really expect a 12x magnification binocular to outperform smaller magnification Leica Ultravid Plus binoculars, but the image quality of the Swarovskis is remarkable. The manufacturing quality, even eclipses that of Leica, something that i wasn\'t expecting, and even though i thought long and hard on whether i needed yet another pair of premium binoculars, i consider the £1800 i spent, money well spent. I may even sell my Ultravids, in the future, but as i don\'t need to get rid of them, i will keep them, as im sure a 7x magnification, with its wide field of view, will always be in demand.

Summary: After looking through a friends new 12x42 NL Swarovskis, i persuaded myself, i needed a pair of higher magnification binoculars, and because the Els were discontinued, i was able to get them at a decent discount. Their simply outstanding, in every way, a little bit heavy to carry around for an extended period, but the image quality, is remarkable.

Pros: These are the best binoculars I have ever owned.Tried them 12mths ago and finally saved enough to get them. Very steady despite the high magnification (just try them even if you have doubts on this - they are truly surprising). Exceptional build quality, good balance. Having been a Leica fan for many years, these are a cut above.

Summary: Just try them, you will not be disappointed. Then start saving!
