The Ultravid HD binoculars series was launched in 2007, replacing the Ultravid series. It consists of roof prism models with the objective diameters from 20 to 50 mm. All binoculars feature Schmidt-Pechan prisms. They were covered by dielectric HighLux (HLS) coatings to ensure high transmission level and additionally they were phase P40 correction coated.

The high-end EL Swarovski series consists of instruments boasting the highest quality and price. Not so long ago it used to consist of four roof-prism models with the following parameters: 8x32, 10x32, 8.5x42 and 10x42. Lately the company has launched upgraded models with the ‘Swarovision’ word in their names.

The Carl Zeiss Jena Deltrintem 8x30 binoculars and its individual focus version, known under the name of Deltrentis, were produced in Jena from 1920 to 1990 practically without cease. These are classic Porro prism instruments with achromatic objectives.

The parameters of the new Kowa products are impressive indeed. Every set of binoculars is constructed in the Schmidt-Pechan roof prism system; the prisms are covered by special C3 coating, offering a reflectance of 99% across the entire visible spectrum (400 to 700nm). Additionally the prisms are phase- coated.

The German Steiner company had long defied the fashion for producing more difficult and more expensive roof-prism instruments. Steiner, as the only one of major manufacturers, had in its line-up Porro binoculars scattered around many series.

The B1 Meostar series, produced by Czech Meopta, was launched in 2005. Since that time the company has enlarged its line-up successively. Currently we can choose from models with the following parameters: 8×32, 10×32, 7×42, 8×42, 10×42, 7×50, 10×50, 12×50 and 8×56.

The top-of-the-range quality and price HG series of the German company Minox has been recently enlarged by low-dispersion glass models and received an APO-HG symbol. Still you can find the whole line-up of HG binoculars without such a glass in objective lenses.

In October 2009 the Vixen company announced the launch of a new series of binoculars called New Foresta. The models 8x32, 8x42 and 10x42 appeared then. In March 2010, during IWA fairs, next two models were unveiled with the parameters of 10x50 and 8x56.

The Viper series from the Vortex American company belongs to one of the most interesting offers of this manufacturer’s line-up. So far, it has been expanded into as many as 11 models with the following parameters: 8x28, 10x28, 6x32, 8x32, 10x32, 8x42, 10x42, 12x42, 8.5x50, 10x50 and 15x50.

In September 2008 the Polish company Delta Optical launched two new, small, roof-prism sets of binoculars with 8×32 and 10×32 parameters. As there have been many demands for a handy and cheap pair of binoculars which can be hidden in a pocket easily, this offer was the answer to the customers’ needs.

In March 2008 during the IWA 2008 in Nürnberg, a hunting and sporting equipment exhibition, the Fujinon company announced the launch of 7 new roof-prism sets of binoculars. The Leupold Mesa 10x50 is a solid position on the 10x50 class binoculars’ market. The level of its build quality and optics is more or less the same as in the case of very well-known Konica-Minolta Activia and Nikon Action EX.

Swarovski Optik has just anounced the introduction of two new top class and roof prisms binoculars belonging to EL SWAROVISION series. These are 10x50 and 12x50 models.

The Eschenbach binoculars from the Trophy series can be divided into three groups: marked with AS/P, AS/D and AS/F letters. The first are Porro prismatic devices and include models with the following parameters: 8x40, 10x50 and 8x56. .

Pentax announced two new binocular series to the DCF line-up. Each heavy-duty DCF series roof-prism binocular, the Pentax 9x32 DCF BC and the 9x42 DCF BR, features high-performance optics, a waterproof construction allowing fresh-water rinsing, and an ergonomic body design for a comfortable hold.
