Cons: Leica price and only splash water proof.

Pros: Very wide field of view and very sharp. Very easy to use. Very stylish - and yes: they come with a leather pouch.

Summary: These \"retro-vids\" are very nice binoculars. Very sharp image with very good aberration control. The low 7x magnification makes them easy to use with hardly any refocusing being necessary when changing from near to far views. Comparing the 7x to 8x magnification shows only a subtle improvement in view of details and after using those retro-vids, I personally prefer the 7x now. If you pass these Trinovids to a novice with no binocular observing experience they seem to have no difficulty capturing the image. The weight and dimension of the 7x35 make them very handy to carry, even in the pocket of a jacket. Their style makes them suitable even for use in the opera. Ok, those retro-vids are not made for use in the desert or jungle as they are only splash proof. But they posses all the modern Leica coatings and look like they can withstand a bump. So probably for everyone not in the Legion Etrangere (or similar units) they will just work fine for decades to come.
