Cons: - Focus wheel already stiff at 20°C, at 10°C it is VERY hard to turn; in winter it must be unusable - Glare control very poor (hardly better than in the new Diamondback 8x42 - see my user opinion there) - Objective lenses really dusty inside; this may not have a big influence on the performance, but neither does it inspire confidence - Too heavy (and rather large) for a lower-mid-range bino

Pros: - NO rolling ball effect (globe effect) at all - Feels solid - Image quality rather good, apart from the glare issue - Field of view and other optical specifications very good - Good warranty, if they keep what they promise

Assuming the manufacturer must have fixed the problem I order a set - AND? I get it, and the focus wheel IS stiff, far too stiff to be used in the cold season, anyway! So, what do we learn from that? They just don´t seem to care about their products - or about the customers, for that matter. The Vortex VIP warranty is really impressive, but it would be more impressive still if this company cared to produce decent binos in the first place. - I sent the bino back because of the focus wheel issue. - Please note: this device is discontinued by the manufacturer, but many online shops still sell it. I´m afraid I can´t recommend it, unless you live in some land of everlasting summer - but with the sun hidden behind the clouds ...
