Cons: Persistent blackouts, cheap accessories, no threaded socket for attaching to a tripod, not waterproof

Pros: Outstanding optics, excellent build construction, comfortable to hold

Summary: The Nikon 12x50SE is first class binocular. It can be hand held but would be better used with a tripod. I one is in search of a relatively high powered binocular, this would be my first and best recommendation.

Cons: Focus is rather shallow.

Pros: Resolution, contrast, field flatness, etc.

Summary: What the 8x32 SE is to birding, these are to astronomy.
