To sum up, be aware that 40-60mm roof prism binoculars are more compact than porro but because of more difficult design are heavier and more expensive.

It is also worth to mention that Porro binoculars have larger distance between front lenses than roofs (it is not true for small reversed Porro binoculars). It causes more 3D looking image (which is a clear advantage) but at the same time minimal focusing distance is longer (which, on the other hand is clear disadvantage).
